Help Us Put Our Gardens to Bed: Fall Volunteer Opportunities at Green Visions

After a season of abundance, it’s time to turn our attention toward next year’s growth!

Our acre of flowers at Green Visions is beginning to fade, and we’re preparing to put the farm to bed for winter. This means laying the foundation for another productive season, investing one last burst of energy into our campus, and preparing Greentopia’s Flour Garden at High Falls for the colder months ahead.

We’re excited about what next year holds, and we’d love your help getting there.

Join Us for Fall Volunteer Days

We’re officially recruiting volunteers!

Our new volunteer sign-up page makes it easier than ever for individuals, organizations, businesses, community groups, and schools to get involved.

Volunteer days are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the remainder of the farming season. We can also accommodate alternative days for groups interested in volunteering together.

How You Can Help

There’s plenty to do as we prepare our gardens and parkland for winter. Volunteer activities include:

  • Digging, labeling, and storing dahlia bulbs

  • Removing spent flowers

  • Sowing cover crop seeds

  • Organizing garden tools

  • Raking leaves

  • Cutting back native plants

  • Helping with general farm and garden cleanup

Once you complete the volunteer sign-up form, Green Visions staff will reach out to coordinate dates, times, and activities.

Bring Your Team Together for a Day of Giving Back

Looking for a meaningful way to give back to the Rochester community?

We especially encourage local businesses, organizations, schools, and community groups to join us for a group volunteer day.

Our team is happy to discuss opportunities that work for your group and help make your experience meaningful.

At Greentopia, we believe building something meaningful takes a community. As an organization dedicated to advancing urban agriculture and community engagement in Rochester, we’re grateful for everyone willing to roll up their sleeves alongside us.

Growing a Stronger Volunteer Community

Our fall cleanup efforts are about more than preparing for winter. They’re also an opportunity to build lasting connections with the people who support our mission.

We want to make it easier for volunteers to get involved, stay connected, and contribute to Greentopia’s mission and Green Visions’ workforce development efforts.

By growing our volunteer community, we hope to create even more opportunities for hands-on engagement in the seasons ahead.

Ready to Get Involved?

Whether you have a few hours to spare or want to organize a group volunteer day, we’d love to have you join us.
